Harper Steele, who became friends with Will Ferrell while working on Saturday Night Live, came out as a trans woman in 2021. Now they’re releasing a documentary on Netflix together.
Netflix has released the moving and hilarious trailer for Will & Harper, a documentary about the friendship between Hollywood star Will Ferrell and former Saturday Night Live head writer Harper Steele, who came out as transgender in 2021.
The brief clip shows the pair on a road trip as they not only look back at their time working together, but also how Harper – and society – embraces her new gender identity.
“Ultimately, the main reason that got me to do it was, ‘Oh maybe this could be useful for others,’” Harper tells Tudum.
“I like to think that about any kind of work that I’m putting out there. Anything that I’m making or a part of, it’s like, ‘I hope this is somehow useful to people, that it makes them laugh or they get something out of it.’”
